Weekly Update One

World of Beer, Jacksonville
It has been one week since I dropped what most would consider a normal life to live homeless, explore our great country, and rely on Lyft for money to eat and pay my bills. I wouldn't have been able to make it this far without the generosity of strangers and friends alike. So far, I haven't had to sleep in the car a single night! Thanks to all those who have lent me shelter for a night, you all are awesome!

It has been just one week, yet so much has happened in such a short period of time. I am convinced that living with Lyft is somehow a secret method into slowing time and tapping into all of life's possibilities.

In only one week I have stayed in 4 cities and met the acquaintance of countless people, befriending quite a few. I have been shot into the air at 91mph on bungees, learned to ride a motorcycle, went hunting for the first time, and even acquired a mentor who will help me until I reach financial success. I've learned and seen things that could in no way be possibly extracted from the comfort of my own town working a traditional job. I've seen friends I haven't seen in many years and been stranded with nowhere to go - then witnessed the generosity of absolute strangers to take me into their homes. I've met professional contacts for future opportunities, been hiking in a Native American settlement, enjoyed live music, and been drunk and jolly in Atlanta with friends I had only met less than 2 hours earlier..I did all of this while still earning money with Lyft!

Obviously, living with Lyft is not the only way to see the country, make new friends, have interesting new experiences and make money; but it is a unique way that I felt so few people realized was possible that I decided to create this blog.

As of today, my experience on the road has been net positive and I am looking forward to the rest of the adventure. If this is something that interests you, I highly recommend it. There are so many world travelers in the USA there's no need to get on a plane anymore. The entire world is here waiting for you; who knows what amazing ideas and people you may stumble across.
